A Positive Change in Your Life Can Make a Difference in the World

Can One Positive Change Make a Difference?

A smoker graduates high school, decides to get a job before college. He gets an efficiency apartment and a menial job to get along while he find his direction. He smokes 1 1/2 packs of cigarettes a day and each night buys a six-pack of beer to relax. This habit costs him about $300 or more a month. He smokes on his front stoop. Meets the girl next door, doing the same thing, also a smoker. They get married. Have a child within the first year. Next thing you know he is supporting a family. The tension in his life gets greater as life goes on, he takes on more responsibility, his habit worsens. By 40-50 years old, his lungs are cancerous, he may have COPD, and now the state is paying for him to live and paying for his hospital bills.

SAME SCENARIO WITH ONE CHANGE: A smoker graduates high school and decides to quit smoking, uses the money he/she used for cigarettes on an education. He/she goes to night school and gets a degree in computer technology. Meets a life partner at school. They start a business together and prosper creating jobs for other people.

One change--the world looks completely different.
