What Is a Friend?

I recently had someone make an exclamation about friendship and I winced, because I wondered if he had ever touched the tip of that cherished golden sword.

I feel so fortunate daily to have to the support of so many beautiful friends. I know some of you reading this are on the periphery of my life and I'm thankful for you too. 

But on the inner sanctum of my life, friendship is holy and reverent. I cherish it as God's love. A good friend is like gold. A friend is warmth, honor, compassion, charity, and love all wrapped up into one ball of huggable, squeezable hope! If you have one of these treasures, don't let it go--ever. Pray for him/her every day. And go one step further and be there whenever you can to show him/her how much he/she means to you. You will always be blessed when you have a good friend!
