Your Compassionate Brain
When I can think of only one negative thing, and it goes through my mind over and over again, I ask myself one question: What inside of me do I need to work on? Because clearly, whatever it is that is plaguing my mind won't go away until I deal with my "stuff."
The next thing I tell myself is: You are not your mind! The mind is a wonderful network of neuropathways that fire endlessly, with triggers from birth, firing whether we want them to or not. So, I would say, I am not my mind.
But how does one get away from the trappings of the mind without going crazy? Good question. That's what meditation is all about.
Learning about the compassionate observer side of the brain--the steady, peaceful side that never wavers--our God-connection. The more you practice meditation, the easier it is to change gears and switch to this peaceful side of your brain. Then it is easier to let Spirit help you decide the perfect pathway to peace!
