Standing Still

Time changing. Back hurting. Polished an old pair of shoes with 20-year-old polish from a collection of shoe polish that was in a shoe-polishing foot stool I inherited from my father 10 years ago when he died. What do all these things have in common? We can make things look new with old things. We can save old things so they look new. We can make 8 am look like 9 am. But, can we ever make life stop changing? The now is beautiful in it's ever-pirouetting dance of change. We just have to realize that no amount of preservation can make time stand still. In so doing, we live in the present moment and it's perfect beauty. Life doesn't look good standing still, and neither do you!
