Relationships that are Unequally Balanced

I have had this strange purging of friendships lately. It seems that some friends just don't like the idea that I'm stepping forward in my life to become all that I can be and all that Spirit would have me be.

As I reflect on that I think about relationships that have become unbalanced by one partner being more successful than the other. This can way heavy on the partner that isn't making as much money, or isn't in the public eye. I have had two such clients who were going through this. 

The woman's business had sky-rocketed, while her husband had done everything but go bankrupt to stay afloat. The wife tried everything she could to support the husband, but he not only became depressed, but angry that she offered to help. 

What is partnership anyway, if while one person is struggling, the other helps? Is this not why we have partners, to move through life with us in the good and the bad times? 

I'd love to hear from you about this, especially if you have had this happen to you.
